Hehuan Mountain, known as the "Snow Town", is located at the junction of Hualien County and Nantou County. It is the watershed of Taiwan's major rivers: Dajia River, Zhuoshui River and Liwu River. The Hehuan Peaks are connected by seven mountains: the Main Peak (3,416 meters), the East Peak (3,421 meters), the North Peak (3,422 meters), the West Peak (3,144 meters), Shimen Mountain (3,236 meters), Hehuan Peak (3,217 meters), and Shimen North Peak (3,278 meters) (the first five are now listed among the "100 Peaks of Taiwan").

Provincial Highway No. 14A (Dayuling to Wuling section) is the highest highway in Asia, with two entrances, Dayuling and Wushe. If you enter the mountain from Dayuling, you can enjoy the scenery of the Central Cross-Island Highway. If you enter from Wushe, one line goes directly to Lushan, and the other line goes through Qingjing Farm, Meifeng, Cuifeng, Yuanfeng, Kunyang, Wuling to Dayuling. Along the way, there are unique alpine landscapes such as alpine hemlock, white dead wood and arrow bamboo forest grassland.
